Naked Cats

Cato got out last night, ran out through a window that I left slightly ajar even though all our windows have screens. Of course, he can't do this, but it was a dream. He can do anything if it's a dream. So he exited through a window that was open, through a screen that was partly ajar -- even though the screens don't do that -- and I was, naturally, quite naked. I hate when that happens. But I had to go outside to get him. Now, this is actually possible in real life, since we have a fairly high fence around the yard and none of our neighbors has any windows that overlook the yard. There is a school across the street, which (naturally) was filled with children even though it was around three in the morning, but that's to be expected in a dream.

So I went out after the cat, and he -- true to his nature, actually -- managed to squirm free every time I caught him. Trying to catch a wily cat while naked is, just so you know, less fun than it might seem, especially when you have to go through bushes, lie on the ground, and in general, come into contact with those things that make the outside the outside.

Cato is inside in real life, wondering about all the dirty looks I'm giving him, while the Cato of my dreams is still out there somewhere, taunting me as only a cat can. I have half a mind to introduce Cato of my dreams to that dog from a few blog posts back, even though that post featured a dog coexisting with Cato and Ginger. I believe Cato kept nipping the dog's legs. Maybe I could get a smaller dog, one that was more of a threat to Cato...

Or, even better, maybe I could get a softer yard. With less scratchy bushes. And a higher fence.
