Me's a Mick Mouse

There was a fellow on the train the other day who was listening to his iPod and, oblivious to the rest of us around him, belting out an accompaniment to an unknown tune. Mile after mile, verse after verse, we listened to his incomprehensible lyrics in complete bewilderment. Although riders generally refrain from eye contact, almost all of us exchanged the kind of look that said "I have no idea what this guy is on, but he seems harmless enough. Plus it's kind of funny."

And then he came to the refrain:

"Me's a mick.... mouse...
.... mighty might must mettin' mit mall mang mout..."

My wife got it first. She leaned over to me and whispered "Brick House!"

Yep, that was it, that old standard from the Commodores, Lionel Richie letting the world know the dimensions of this particular woman.

I don't think he rode with us all the way to the end. I'm pretty sure he got off about halfway back, still punctuating whatever tune he was listening to with a garbled, but heartfelt "might mon!"

You can learn a lot from mass transit.
